When you join a LifeGroup, you will spend time learning about God’s amazing plan for your life, and praying together, and growing in supportive relationships. It’s all about “doing life together.” All you have to do is show up, join in, and be real. Thursday ALIVE! - Each week we gather from all over Central DELCO to learn the Scriptures, worship God, pray for one another, create space to hear from the Spirit, and spend time together. With both large group gathering and small group breakouts, you’re invited to come hang out with us and have a good time. Our students meet on Sundays for spiritual formation. Middle-schoolers breakout weekly for Grounded-for-Life following the worship portion of our 9:00am Sunday Celebration. High-schoolers meet for discipleship bi-weekly at 11:00am. It’s our opportunity for students to grow lives of deep-meaning in a together context. Throughout the year, our students are active in missions, retreats and conferences, community impact, and relational connection activities. It’s where missional engagement mixes with food and fun. As a result, students are engaged, surrounded, and inspired to practice the way of Jesus. We believe kids are a vital part of the life of the church. From infants and toddlers through elementary age, our kids experience the love of Jesus and grow in their faith through age-appropriate lessons, crafts. and activities. Trained teachers and assistants are ready and prepared each week to love and lead children in spiritual formation. We also equip parents with the resources and tools to reinforce throughout the week what kids have learned on Sundays. Our elementary age kids buld relationships through fun activities and engaging events like missions and service projects, parties, camps and retreats. Because they matter, we want to make church a place kids want to be! Each of our classrooms have trained teachers and assistants who love God and want to make an impact on the next generation. They use age-appropriate worship and activities that point kids towards Jesus. All of our Life Kids classes use [Orange](https://thinkorange.com/#resources) [](https://thinkorange.com/#resources)curriculum. If you are joining us for the first time, you’ll head over towards the Life Kids Check-in where we will get to know you a little better! We’ll ask some questions about allergies, what your child likes to be called, and gather your contact information. You and your child will then receive a sticker with a matching code. You’ll use this sticker to pick up your child following the Sunday service. During the service we will feed, play with and care for your little ones. We will spend time singing, teaching a basic Bible story and praying with them. Our desire is that you feel confident while we care for your child so that you can relax and learn from relevant teaching in the adult service. Each week, preschoolers will spend time in worship, hear a Bible story, play games and make crafts. Whether it’s during a game or eating snack, our preschoolers will get a chance to build relationships with both adults and other children. Each month, our preschoolers focus on a monthly theme and memorize a monthly scripture verse. Elementary aged children will enjoy worship, bible lessons and activities designed with them in mind! Each month, we focus on a monthly value and Bible verse. Through both large group and small group breakout times, kids develop friendships with each other and grow in their relationship with Jesus! Our 5/6 Rise teachers focus on reaching our preteens through meaningful and engaging worship, Bible lessons and activities. Life matters and it’s deep meaning can’t be forced, but only discovered. We believe this life of deep meaning begins with God. He reaches out to us by sending His Son. Passionate, yet practical communicators, their affirming leadership has mentored many people toward an authentic, life-transforming relationship with Christ. Fans of reading, word puzzles, good worship music and great food, PB and Esther’s favorite compliment is when people say, “They’re real.” Pastor Grant and Emily lead Alive Youth, our student ministries for grades 7-12. Grant also leads the Life Worship Team, which seeks to usher us into the presence of God every week as we lift up His name. Having grown up in Springfield, Grant has a heart and vision for the future of our community and church. He and Emily strive to teach and model what it means to dig deep roots for what matters most in life. Kim McMonagle is the Children's Pastor, overseeing the ministry for birth through 6th grade. After growing up at Life Church and becoming an elementary school teacher, Kim recently answered the call of God on her life to make the move to lead LIFE Kids at Life Church. She brings her gifting with children and teaching and her love for God into this core ministry to children and families. Kim has her own young family, with her son Andrew in early childhood and husband Andy in the worship team. Katie provides administrative support to our pastoral staff. She’s skilled at graphic design and has mastered the art of baking. You’ll find her at the hub of planning, communication, and events at Life Church. As one generation ages, a new generation is born again and the cycle repeats. Over the past 30 years of Life Church we have seen incredible growth, not least in our children and youth attendance. These future leaders, pastors, servants and evangelists will continue to invite and inspire growth at Life Church. So we prepare and plan for that growth, investing in a bigger space with more opportunities and better facilities. Launching in 1993, we purchased our current building in 1997 to house our growing congregation. Within 3-4 years, we began to hit the ceiling of our limited parking and sanctuary size. Then in 2010, we moved to two Sunday services to accommodate our growth. We also purchased adjacent property to expand parking and build at our current location. Over the past few years, we’ve prayerfully clarified our vision, mission and values. And we continue to grow—new people, more small groups, expanding kids and youth ministries. This growth leads to the constant challenge of significant restrictions. Our sanctuary seating exceeds 85% capacity each week and our 25 parking spaces cannot hold the over 60 cars that are counted per service. We have no dedicated youth space for the Alive Youth Ministries, which often exceeds 60 students in attendance. And our elementary-age kids ministries continue to grow, but our ministry space is limited. Our church daycare/preschool also has limited space with constant waiting lists in various age groups. Our mission to grow with God, connect with people and serve with purpose is often confined by the restrictions of our facilities. Therefore, new ministries and fresh ideas are tabled for “somewhere down the road.” Most of all, we feel the restriction upon our desire to reach more people for Christ in our community. Where will they park? Where will we seat them? How can we accommodate them and make them feel welcome when our over-crowded spaces feel intimidating to a guest? We have renovated every space in our church building, as well as the Life House multiple times. But the 1955 cornerstone on our building speaks the truth. We minister in a dated facility that was not designed for our life-giving congregation. It has become a box that restricts us with all that God has called us to do. So we are taking a big step into FORWARD VISION. We are preparing to build a new worship facility that will be under one roof with three times our current square footage. It will include a sanctuary that is solely dedicated as worship space with double the seating capacity of our current facility. We will have a spacious lobby area to welcome newcomers and help facilitate our vibrant relational connections. It will have a dedicated youth ministry area and double our Life Kids ministry area. All this will include over 100 parking spots for all who attend. **“It’s Time!”** You just feel it in the air as we gather at Life Church. God is on the move and He’s giving us the unique opportunity to make room for others to experience Jesus and His transforming power. But the challenges of our growth bring us to the point of the big step of faith. It’s time for us to construct a new facility to house the expanding Life Church family. We are preparing to build a new worship facility that will be under one roof with three times our current square footage. It will include a sanctuary that is solely dedicated as worship space with double the seating capacity of our current facility. We will have a spacious lobby area to welcome newcomers and help facilitate our vibrant relational connections. It will have a dedicated youth ministry area and Life Kids ministry area. No matter the dollar amount you feel led to give, we believe that if you give what God has placed on your heart, we will see the fruition of our prayers as we build for the future of God's kingdom in Springfield and central Delaware County. Details are subject to change and we greatly appreciate your prayers for wisdom, favor and provision as our team continues to move the plans forward. Cost analysis for this project is sizeable with the new construction of the building and sitework estimated at $8+ million. There are also contingency fees and additional overhead costs that could add on an additional $2 million. Clearly, this is a costly move, but we must engage in faith and advance with the vision that God has given LIFE CHURCH. This big move requires a BIG FAITH, and we believe God has positioned us to do it. FORWARD VISION is a 2 year a congregational initiative designed to raise the additional monies that will bridge the gap between our current financial holdings and the anticipated $6 million construction loan for the new building. After extensive financial analysis, it was projected that our 24-month fundraising capacity would be in the range of $350,000 to $650,000 with a mid-range of $500,000. However we raised over $700,000 in 18 months, and the giving continues!! We believe God will help us to reach our goals to break ground, and ultimately build a new home for LIFE CHURCH with all ministries under one roof! This FORWARD VISION move will take us to a new level of influence in our community. But it will also help us grow further in becoming a church with regional impact in the greater Philadelphia area. And the “GO” value for world missions and church planting will grow to a whole new level. Whether you’ve been part of Life Church for years, or you just started attending, we want you to get involved and ask the Lord to connect your heart with what He is doing through our church. So, if we want to get to our final spiritual destination (eternity with God), we need to learn which route to take: ours or God's, to position us where God wants and needs us to be. Prayer is powerful and effective. This Life Group is to pray with other believers in our church for the ministries and specific needs that arise for individuals in and connected to our church The purpose of our group is to create a healthy environment for growth in relationships, first with Jesus and then with other brothers in Christ, and to encourage men to serve and to be present as leaders in their circle of influence. These groups are a place to connect with other women for the purpose of encouraging, challenging, and inspiring one another to become devoted followers of Jesus who love His Word, spend time in prayer and serve Him. The purpose of the Young Adult LIFE Ministry is to provide opportunities for individuals, ages 18-30, to be empowered and motivated to grow in intimate communion with God. The group meets Wednesdays in the lobby at the church, with additional social gatherings during the year. ROOTED at Life Church is a 12 week discipleship journey that covers the rhythms of discipleship for seekers, new believers and seasoned Christians. With both large group gathering and small group breakouts, you’re invited to come hang out with us and have a good time. And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Our students meet on Sundays for spiritual formation. Middle-schoolers breakout weekly for Grounded-for-Life following the worship portion of our 9:00am Sunday Celebration. High-schoolers meet for discipleship bi-weekly at 11:00am. It’s our opportunity for students to grow lives of deep-meaning in a together context. Throughout the year, our students are active in missions, retreats and conferences, community impact, and relational connection activities. It’s where missional engagement mixes with food and fun.
